Early Life
King Von’s early life was marked by hardship and tragedy. He grew up in Parkway Gardens, a public housing project on Chicago’s South Side that was known for its gang violence and crime. Von’s father was in prison for most of his childhood, leaving him and his siblings to be raised by their mother. Career
Bennett developed a love of music early on and began rapping and performing songs with his pals while he was in his teens. But he didn’t take his music seriously until he was released from prison after being exonerated of all murder charges. Lil Durk, a rapper from Chicago, noticed his skill and signed him to one of his record labels.
Bennett, who was adopted, released the chart-topping single Crazy Tale not long after signing a contract. He released Cousins in 2019, a song with Chicago rapper JusBlow600. He moved to Atlanta as his music career took off, where he worked on his first mixtape, Grandson Vol..
His debut mix tape, which featured numerous songs by King Von and Lil Durk, was well-received and peaked at No. 75 on the Billboard 200. The second mixtape, Levon James, which he published in 2019, was started shortly after the previous one. It included joint efforts with the rappers YNW Melly and NLE Choppa.
King began production on his debut studio album, Welcome to O’Block, after he published his second mixtape in October 2020. Sadly, it was his final work while still living because he passed away a few days after it was published. Death
King was shot on November 6, 2020, and died as a result. He (and his group) got into a fight with rival rapper Quando Rondo’s crew outside of the club Atlanta, which led to the shooting. Bennett was shot numerous times as the confrontation got heated. He was sent to a hospital where he received critical care but later that day lost away.
Six individuals were injured and another person died as a consequence of the shooting. Timothy Leeks, also known as Lu Timm, a shooting victim who is connected to the musician Quando Rondo, was detained and charged with King’s murder.
